The High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) partially satisfied the claim of a prosecutor from the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) and declared assets totalling nearly UAH 6.5 million acquired by the former head of one of Kharkiv's district prosecutor's offices and his wife to be unjustified.
During a lifestyle monitoring of the official, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) established that between 2022 and 2024, the prosecutor's family acquired ownership of two apartments in Kharkiv, Lexus LX (2016 model year) and Mercedes-Benz GLE 43 AMG (2017 model year), as well as monetary assets. By comparing the value of the acquired property with the family's income, the NACP identified a discrepancy exceeding UAH 7.5 million.
The lawsuit was based on materials from the NACP, the State Bureau of Investigation, and evidence independently gathered by the SAPO prosecutor. A news report by TSN also served as the basis for initiating the lifestyle monitoring of the prosecutor.
Based on the review of the case, the HACC declared the lifestyle monitoring unjustified and ordered the recovery of the value of the following assets:
-
1/2 of an apartment in Kharkiv;
-
a Lexus LX vehicle;
-
a share of a Mercedes-Benz GLE 43 AMG vehicle;
-
another apartment in Kharkiv — in full.
The total value of this property amounts to UAH 6 million 487 thousand.
