The Appellate Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court (AC HACC) declared unexplained assets worth UAH 5.4 million belonging to a former member of a local council in Mykolaiv region.
The assets in question include a 2024 Renault Duster valued at over UAH 1 million and a flat in Stryi, Lviv region, worth over UAH 4.4 million, registered in the name of the former MP’s wife.
Earlier, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) conducted a lifestyle monitoring of the former official and identified a discrepancy between the value of the assets and his lawful income. An analysis of the income and expenditure of the former MP and his family members indicated a lack of sufficient lawful funds to acquire the specified property.
The AC HACC declared these assets unexplained, upholding the freezing order placed upon them to secure the claim.
The ruling of the Appellate Chamber of the HACC enters into legal force upon delivery.
As a reminder, the AC HACC previously upheld the forfeiture of unexplained assets worth nearly UAH 5.8 million from a village council head in Rivne region.
