A court has found a deputy of the Dubovyazivka Settlement Council of the Konotop District, Sumy Region, guilty of declaring false information (Part 2, Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) amounting to over UAH 15.2 million.
The grounds for the conviction were the materials of a pre-trial investigation by the Konotop District Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police of Ukraine in the Sumy Region. The investigation was initiated following the results of full verification of the 2023 and 2024 declarations conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).
Specifically, during the full audits, the NACP established that in his 2023 and 2024 declarations, the official failed to include, among other things, information regarding:
- Two residential houses in the Sumy region with areas of 500.1 sq. m. and 84 sq. m.; the declarant resided in one, while his family members lived in the other. The total value of the undeclared real estate exceeds UAH 2.1 million.
- A 2018 Porsche Cayenne belonging to his wife, valued at approximately UAH 2.8 million;
- Over UAH 260 thousand in total is held in his own bank accounts.
It was also established that the official failed to declare a loan received from his mother totalling 1 million UAH and a bank loan of UAH 380 thousand, which he used to purchase land plots.
In addition, the deputy did not disclose information regarding a land plot with an area of 36,284 sq. m., which he holds under ownership rights.
Following the judicial review, the official was found guilty and sentenced to a fine of UAH 69.7 thousand, with a one-year disqualification from holding positions related to the performance of state or local government functions. The verdict has entered into legal force.
