NACP 2.0 leadership meets with international partners to summarize four years of cooperation

15.01.2024

The National Agency on Corruption Prevention hosted a meeting with international partners to summarize the four-year work of the "rebooted" NACP 2.0. Representatives of foreign embassies, international organizations, and partner projects noted the active work of the National Agency, the creation of a powerful body for preventing corruption, and the development of a transparent and virtuous government

"During these 4 years, the NACP has managed to establish a very capable and strong team. The Head of NACP took over at a time of deep crisis for the institution, and he came up with new ideas and visions and managed to create a well-functioning NACP. The State Anti-Corruption Strategy and State Anti-Corruption Program stand out as major achievements with great potential. The EUACI's cooperation with NACP has been excellent," said Allan Pagh Kristensen, Head of the EU Anti-Corruption Initiative (EUACI).

According to Viсtor Liakh, President of the East Europe Foundation, the NACP 2.0 Team's activities are characterized by the development of prevention policies, which are key in the fight against corruption. In addition, the implementation of the OKR methodology in the work of the National Agency is an example of good management that should be applied to other structures, both public and private. "I would like to emphasize three key points that I personally like the most in the NACP 2.0 activities. First of all, it is the application of the OKR methodology, which forms the basis for the effective achievement of goals and which should be applied by both governmental and non-governmental organizations. Secondly, it is definitely a focus on prevention, since the main thing to overcome corruption is its prevention. Thirdly, it is a variety of activities, which include work with the public, the development of online platforms for anti-corruption awareness, and the creation of IT tools to improve transparency and integrity in society," noted Mr. Liakh.

“The NACP's effectiveness is, for example, characterized by constant innovations to address the extreme context resulting from an all-out war. These past four years have seen the impressive rebuilding of an institution that had serious challenges and, at the same time, significant initiatives "beyond the call of duty" as the National Agency strives to deliver to the best of its ability," noted Peter Erben, IFES Ukraine Senior Country Director and IFES Principal Advisor.

During the meeting, the NACP 2.0 team presented a report on its activities over the past four years. The Head of the National Agency, Oleksandr Novikov, spoke about the challenges and victories of the team.

"The difficulties faced by the NACP 2.0 team during its work did not prevent us from doing our job in accordance with the values of the National Agency: integrity, cooperation, responsibility, development, and ambition," said Mr. Novikov. He thanked international partners for their support and cooperation over the past four years.
