Based on materials from lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office has submitted an indictment to the court regarding the former deputy head of the State Institution "Kyiv Detention Center".
During the lifestyle monitoring, the NACP established that the official failed to specify information in his annual declaration for the year 2024 regarding a land plot and a garden house located on it, which were actually in his use and disposal.
The official denied that he or members of his family used or disposed of the real estate. At the same time, the materials gathered by the NACP indicated that the actual acquirer of the property was indeed the declarant.
In particular, it was established that in July 2024, the purchase of a land plot valued at UAH 32 thousand and a garden house valued at over UAH 3.8 million was registered to a third party.
The total amount of false information stands at over UAH 3.85 million.
The NACP forwarded the lifestyle monitoring materials to the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation located in the city of Kyiv to be included in the criminal proceedings materials.
Within the scope of the pre-trial investigation, law enforcement officers also established other facts of possible criminal offences. The actions of the accused are qualified under Part 1 of Article 366-2, Part 1 of Article 209, and Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaring false information, laundering of property obtained through crime, and receiving an improper advantage by an official).
Pursuant to Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
