Investigators of the Haisyn District Police Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Vinnytsia region, under the procedural guidance of the Vinnytsia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, and based, among other things, on the materials of a full audit of the asset declaration conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), have served the Mayor of Bershad with a notice of suspicion under Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (declaring false information).

During the full audit of the 2023 declaration, the NACP established that the mayor failed to declare a residential house with an area of 180 sq. m, in which he actually lived with his children and ex-wife. He also “forgot” to declare a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 150 (2020), worth almost UAH 1.5 million, owned by his ex-wife but used by him during the reporting year.

In total, the mayor concealed assets worth over UAH 3.8 million.

The list of persons whose declarations are subject to full audits, as well as the results of such audits, can be found here.

What happens to a declaration after it is submitted - read here.

Note: According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court conviction.
