The NACP drew up a report on administrative violations against Ivan Rudyi, Head of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries

05.01.2024

The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) has found a corruption-related offense in the actions of Ivan Rudyi, the head of the Commission for Regulation of Gambling and Lotteries (hereinafter - the Commission).

Mr. Rudyi decided to take revenge on the Commission’s employee after a conflict arose between the two. Therefore, he submitted for consideration and personally voted to initiate disciplinary proceedings and remove this employee from the position.

The NACP found signs of an administrative offense in the actions of the Head of the Commission under Parts 1 and 2 of Article 172-7 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, namely failure to report a real conflict of interest, taking actions, or making decisions in conditions of a real conflict of interest.

If found guilty, the official will be subject to an administrative penalty and will be entered into the Unified State Register of Persons Who Committed Corruption or Corruption-Related Offenses.

The case will be considered by the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv based on the protocol drawn up by the NACP.

It should be noted that the NACP's goal is to reduce the number of corrupt or corruption-related offenses. Therefore, the NACP seeks to raise awareness among officials and all citizens about the prevention and resolution of conflicts of interest.

For this purpose, we have developed tests that will help you become more experienced in integrity issues:

- Test to determine whether or not a conflict of interest exists, which will help those public servants who are in doubt quickly understand many typical problematic situations;

- Conflict of interest management test that will help you determine who should be notified and what steps should be taken to resolve the conflict of interest if it arises;

- Test for a manager to choose a way to resolve a conflict of interest among his or her subordinates. This test will help the manager determine the best actions to take to resolve a conflict of interest with a subordinate.

These tests are available on the NACP's official website.

You can learn more about conflicts of interest and how to resolve them in the NACP Knowledge Base.
