The Civil Cassation Court within the Supreme Court upheld the legality of the decisions of the first-instance and appellate courts of the High Anti-Corruption Court of Ukraine (HACC) to declare unjustified an asset used by the Head of the South-Eastern Interregional Administration for the Execution of Criminal Sentences of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, and to recover the value of this asset to the state revenue (civil forfeiture). This concerns a 2021 LAND ROVER RANGE ROVER VOGUE vehicle worth over 3.2 million UAH.
The decision was based on a lifestyle monitoring of the official conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as materials from the State Bureau of Investigation and evidence independently collected by a prosecutor of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office. It was established that in 2023, the vehicle was purchased by the official's daughter, while he was the car's actual manager and user. The NACP analysed the income and expenses of the official and his family and concluded that it was impossible to acquire the vehicle through legal income.
The decision of the Supreme Court is final and not subject to appeal.
As a reminder, during the first quarter of 2026, based on the results of lifestyle monitoring, the NACP forwarded 13 materials and substantiated conclusions, identifying signs of violations totalling over 100 million UAH, to law enforcement agencies.
