War Tools: The NACP launches the world's first open database of foreign equipment used by aggressors to produce weapons

23.02.2024

South Korean and Japanese-German machines are used by a Russian plant that produces missiles for the «С-300» and «С-400» systems that Russia regularly fires at Kharkiv. Czech machines are used at the Votkinsk plant in Russia, which produces «Iskander-M» ballistic missiles and «Topol-M» intercontinental ballistic missiles. There are many such examples, as most of the weapons used by the aggressors are still produced using industrial equipment of foreign origin, because the aggressors themselves do not have the necessary expertise and logistical support.

The National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) is launching the world's first open database of foreign equipment used by aggressors to manufacture their own weapons.

More than 270 items of various foreign equipment have already been published in the new module «Tools of War» on the NACP's «War and Sanctions» portal. In particular, the module contains detailed information on brands of foreign equipment that are still being imported into Russia, models of individual machines, Russian manufacturers of weapons and their components that use foreign equipment, their lethal products, suppliers and importers.

«In the second year of a full-scale war against Ukraine, Russia continues to increase the production of its own weapons. Unfortunately, the unprecedented number of sanctions does not prevent the aggressor from continuing to receive the necessary foreign equipment and spare parts for it. "War Tools" is a unique resource that has no analogues in the world. This database will help the civilized world cut off Russia from foreign technological equipment. The openness of such data should affect both the strengthening of export controls and the tracking of foreign equipment supply chains among our international partners», — emphasized the acting Head of the NACP Iaroslav Liubchenko.

The Unified base of foreign components in weapons, developed by the NACP, has been operating for several months. Unfortunately, the weaponry of the aggressor states is also produced thanks to foreign equipment. Existing sanctions restrictions and control tools do not prevent the Russian Federation and other aggressors from continuing to receive the necessary foreign equipment. In this they are helped by individual foreign manufacturers and intermediary companies from China, Turkey and other countries.

The new Database is intended to help manufacturers and competent government authorities around the world gather evidence and investigate the supply chains of dual-use and military-use goods. It will also serve as a reminder to manufacturers to strengthen the traceability of their equipment.

Let’s deprive the aggressors of the opportunity to use high-precision foreign equipment for the production of their own weapons and violation of the world order.
