The High Anti-Corruption Court has ruled that a number of assets worth UAH 6.9 million acquired by third parties on behalf of and in the interests of a former deputy head of a State Bureau of Investigation territorial department and his wife, a prosecutor of the regional prosecutor's office, were unjustified and ordered their confiscation to the state.
The decision was made following a lawsuit filed by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office and is based on the materials of the lifestyle monitoring of public servants conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).
NACP monitored lifestyles based on its own findings for 3 months.
According to the results of this monitoring, NACP found that the officials' standard of living did not correspond to their declared property and income.
The court's decision may be appealed to the Appeals Chamber of the High Anti-Corruption Court within 30 days from the date of its announcement.
