The Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO), based on lifestyle monitoring conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) and data from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU), as well as evidence and information obtained independently by the publication Slidstvo. Info, has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC).

The lawsuit seeks to have part of the assets registered to a relative of the current Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine declared unfounded and to recover this part or its value for the state.

In 2021, the relative of the official acquired an apartment with an area of over 170 square metres and a value of $300,000 in one of Kyiv's elite residential complexes. Since 2023, the official has declared this property as his family's place of residence and his wife's rental property. At the same time, the evidence gathered proves that he and his family began using this apartment much earlier.

Realising that the use of elite housing would sooner or later attract attention, the official's wife and her mother signed a lease agreement for this apartment in August 2023, setting a monthly rent. Since then, the official's wife has been transferring the rent to her mother's bank account. However, an analysis of the movements on the mother's account shows that her daughter also used this account.

The official denied any financial involvement in the purchase of this property, either his own or his wife's.

A comparison of the relative's income and expenses showed that it was partly impossible to acquire this property from legal income. Her version of obtaining a loan of almost 5.5 million UAH was refuted by the evidence obtained.

In view of this, the SAPO filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court to recognise part of the asset as unjustified and to recover it or its value (9.3 million UAH) as state revenue through civil confiscation.
