Over UAH 6.8 million in unexplained assets may be confiscated from a court chairman in the Vinnytsia region

15.05.2026

The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) has filed a lawsuit with the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) to recognise the assets of the chairman of one of the district courts in Vinnytsia region as unexplained and to forfeit them to the state.

The lawsuit was filed based on lifestyle monitoring materials conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), as well as evidence gathered by a SAPO prosecutor.

The assets in question have a total value of over UAH 6.8 million, including:

  • a three-room and a one-room apartment in Kyiv, acquired in 2020–2021;
  • rental income from one of the apartments, amounting to at least UAH 142 thousand.

The real estate was registered in the names of the official's close relatives. However, the gathered evidence indicates that the assets were actually managed and used by the judge and his family members. Specifically, the judge's daughter lived in one of the apartments, and he himself regularly stayed at the location of the property during vacations and on weekends. The other apartment was rented out, and the profits were transferred to the accounts of connected individuals.

An analysis of income and expenses revealed that the official income of the relatives under whose names the property was registered did not allow for such acquisitions. It was also established that the combined legal income of the judge and his wife during this period was significantly lower than the cost of the acquired assets. The difference between the value of the assets and the confirmed sources of income amounts to over UAH 5.5 million.

In order to secure the lawsuit and prevent potential alienation of the assets, the respective property has been placed under arrest (seized).

As a reminder, earlier, based on NACP materials, a SAPO prosecutor filed a lawsuit with the HACC to recognise an asset of a police colonel from the Odesa region, worth over UAH 3.4 million, as unexplained.
