The Sofiyivka District Court of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast issued a verdict regarding a deputy of the Devladove Village Council of Kryvyi Rih Region, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, for false asset declaration amounting to over UAH 8.6 million (Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The court sentenced him to a fine of UAH 51 thousand and a one-year disqualification from holding positions or engaging in activities related to the functions of state or local government. The verdict has entered into force.
The grounds for the verdict included, among other things, materials from full verification of the 2022 and 2023 declarations conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP).
Specifically, in his 2022 declaration, the official failed to include information about 21 land plots he leased in the Kryvyi Rih Raion of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, with a combined value of over UAH 3.4 million, as well as his own bank debt amounting to UAH 150 thousand.
In his 2023 declaration, he failed to report 29 land plots leased in the same region, with a combined value of over UAH 4.3 million. Also, he provided inaccurate information regarding his business income, understating it by UAH 805 thousand.
The pretrial investigation in the criminal proceedings was conducted by the Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast under the operational guidance of the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast Prosecutor's Office.
Furthermore, based on the NACP verification materials, the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast audited the activities of the deputy's wife, who operates as a sole proprietor. Following the audit, she was assessed additional tax liabilities of over UAH 12 million.
