The Kirovohrad Specialized Procuracy in the Defense Sphere of the Southern Region and investigators of the Territorial Department of the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) in Mykolaiv, located in Kropyvnytskyi, based among other things on the materials of a full declaration verification conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), have notified the former head of the fourth department of the Kropyvnytskyi District TCR & SS of a suspicion of declaring false information worth over UAH 2.5 million.
Based on the results of the full verification of the 2024 declaration, the NACP established, among other things, that the former official "concealed" from the declaration three cars registered to his wife:
- Toyota Rav4 Hybrid (2021 model year), valued at over UAH 1 million;
- Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (2024 model year), valued at UAH 1.2 million;
- Volkswagen Touran (2014 model year), valued at UAH 88.6 thousand.
The declarant denied his awareness of these vehicles; however, his explanations were refuted during the verification.
It should be added that to purchase the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (2024 model year) for over UAH 1.2 million, the former official's wife used funds in the amount of over UAH 593 thousand, the source of which was not established during the declaration verification.
In addition, the former official did not state in the declaration an income of UAH 200 thousand that his wife received from the sale of another car, a Kia Cerato.
Currently, he is charged with committing an offence stipulated by Part 1 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional entry of knowingly false information into the declaration by the subject of declaration).
It is worth noting that during the full verification of the 2023 declaration of the specified subject of declaration, the NACP had already established a violation of financial control requirements. Based on the results of the consideration of the relevant materials, the court found him guilty of committing an administrative offence related to the violation of financial control requirements and imposed a penalty in the form of a fine of UAH 17 thousand. The ruling has entered into force.
Caution. According to Part 1 of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court's verdict of guilty.
