Assets in the name of relatives: a police officer from Poltava region is suspected of illicit enrichment

Employees of the State Bureau of Investigation, including those based on the materials of the full verification of the declaration conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), notified the head of one of the departments of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Poltava region of suspicion of illicit enrichment.

During the verification, in particular, it was established that in 2024-2025, the declarant, by registering assets in the name of close relatives - his mother and stepfather, indirectly acquired property worth over 20.3 million UAH. Among it:

  • an apartment in Poltava worth over 1 million UAH;
  • Property rights to an apartment in Uzhhorod worth 810 thousand UAH, the ownership right to which was registered in 2025. At the same time, the market value is over 4.3 million UAH;
  • property rights to an apartment in Zakarpattia worth 904 thousand UAH, the market value of which exceeds 2.4 million UAH;
  • an apartment in Warsaw (Poland), the minimum market value of which is over 8 million UAH.

Also among the purchased items are a Volkswagen Touareg automobile, year of manufacture 2013, with a market value of over 709 thousand UAH; a Tesla Model S, year of manufacture 2016, worth almost 2.5 million UAH, and a Lexus GX 460, year of manufacture 2016, worth over 1.2 million UAH.

During the verification, it was established that at the expense of the family's funds, the official could have spent no more than 6.1 million UAH. The verification also did not confirm the presence of legal sources of funds among his relatives to purchase such property.

The total amount of illicit enrichment is 14.1 million UAH.

The official was notified of suspicion under Article 368-5 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illicit enrichment). A pre-trial investigation is also being carried out under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (inaccurate declaration).

The procedural guidance is provided by the Poltava Regional Prosecutor's Office.

Caution. According to Part One of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in accordance with the law and established by a court verdict of guilty.
