The Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) Oleksandr Novikov, while participating in the panel "Integrity in the post-war reconstruction of Ukraine", organized by the NACP at the International Anti-Corruption and Integrity Forum of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) in Paris, expressed the readiness of anti-corruption bodies of Ukraine to ensure transparency and accountability of the processes related to the reconstruction of Ukraine. This, first of all, will be posible with rhe help of innovative IT solutions.
"Now the Ukrainian army is fighting for our shared values with you, and there is definitely no place for corruption among these values. The approved Anti-Corruption Strategy until 2025 and the Program for its implementation fully correspond to the priorities of victory and restoration of our state. These are construction, land management, judicial system, defense and security, management of state enterprises. The State Anti-Corruption Program provides comprehensive preventive measures that guarantee victory and a transparent, corruption-free reconstruction process. By eliminating the root causes of corruption, we can lay the foundation for sustainable and accountable governance", - said Oleksandr Novikov in his speech at the OECD forum.
He added that in building a system of transparent and accountable governance, the NACP uses best practices such as OECD Recommendations on public integrity. This is an integral part of Ukraine's path to full membership in the organization.
IT solutions will play a key role in this. He emphasized that the Agency already has experience in creating innovative IT products that have no analogues in the world and that already help in the fight against corruption in Ukraine. Oleksandr Novikov drew attention to the fact that even the rating of implementation of the State Anti-corruption Program by each responsible body may be monitored in real time on the monitoring portal developed by the NACP.
However, the Head of the NACP recalled that due to the large-scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine, not all IT tools work at full capacity and are available to the public.
"Our goal is to restore the full functioning of all digital corruption prevention mechanisms. Among them is the restoration of mandatory electronic declaration and verification of declarations. After all, the reporting of officials on their wealth and income is a powerful anti-corruption safeguard. "Society and international partners expect a corresponding decision of the Verkhovna Rada in the near future, in accordance with the requirements set out in the Memorandum with the International Monetary Fund", - said the Head of the NACP.
We will remind you that in the summer of last year, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal submitted an application for the accession of our country to the OECD. The NACP plays an active role in the process of Ukraine's integration into the Organization.
