Taras Kachka, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration, has expressed support for the draft Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026–2030, emphasising that its adoption is among the Government’s key priorities for 2026.
The matter was discussed during a working meeting at the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. Participants included Dmytro Kalmykov, Deputy Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP); Ivan Salimonov, Head of the NACP’s Directorate for policy development in the field of corruption prevention; Oleksandr Ilkov, Director General of the Government Office for Coordination of European and Euro-Atlantic Integration; and representatives of civil society organisations.
According to Taras Kachka, the draft Strategy is a document with significant sectoral and anti-corruption potential. It is fully prepared for consideration by the Cabinet of Ministers and the Verkhovna Rada.
Civil society representatives involved in the discussion confirmed the thoroughness and importance of this strategic document. They noted the high level of transparency and inclusivity of the process. They stressed the importance of preserving the document’s key provisions, particularly initiatives regarding competitive selection for heads of law enforcement agencies, taxation, the legal profession, the prosecution service, and reconstruction.
“The Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026–2030 is a nationwide strategic document that will largely determine Ukraine's future for the next five years, as its implementation will affect almost all spheres of citizens' lives. This document is the result of nearly two years of collaborative work by hundreds of specialists from state institutions, think tank experts, academics, international partners, and the public. Its support is critically important for all of us,” noted Dmytro Kalmykov.
He also expressed hope that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine would review and approve the draft Strategy in the near future, preserving key initiatives for both the further development of the anti-corruption system and the minimisation of corruption risks in priority sectors.
The draft Anti-Corruption Strategy for 2026–2030 was developed by the NACP over nearly two years, involving representatives of state authorities, the scientific community, international partners, and civil society. The document accounts for Ukraine's international legal obligations, including recommendations from the European Commission, provisions of the Rule of Law Roadmap, and the Ukraine Facility initiatives.
On April 2, 2026, the NACP submitted the draft Strategy to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine for consideration.
