The OECD has noted the high level of Ukraine's achievements in the implementation of the Public Integrity Indicators

20.09.2024

Viktor Pavlushchyk, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), participated in the presentation of the analysis results of the Public Integrity Indicators by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The OECD Directorate for Public Administration recognized the high level of Ukraine's achievement of these indicators, which were compared with those of the European Union.

“Internationally developed indicators of public integrity are an important tool for assessing our progress. Ukraine has achieved significant results in building an integrity system, which is confirmed by the analysis of this data. We can clearly see where we are today and can look to other countries' performance for further development. This provides us with the opportunity to make informed decisions based on the best international practices of countries that follow the OECD recommendations on public integrity,” said Pavlushchyk.

It is worth noting that Ukraine became the first non-OECD country to join the Public Integrity Indicators initiative.

Additionally, the Deputy Head of the NACP, Dmytro Kalmykov, discussed the possibilities of using the Information System for Monitoring State Anti-Corruption Policy (ISM SACP) during the 29th meeting of the OECD Anti-Corruption Network Leading Group.

“The key tool that helps the National Agency monitor the State Anti-Corruption Strategy and the Program for its implementation, as well as display their results, is the Information System for Monitoring State Anti-Corruption Policy. It is a source of complete and objective information on the implementation of the Program due to its user-friendly interface and interactive visualization,” said Dmytro Kalmykov.

The OECD Anti-Corruption Network member countries, particularly those that have recently approved their own anti-corruption policy acts, have expressed interest in implementing the NACP's digital monitoring system. Some of these countries are already planning to strengthen cooperation with the agency to learn from Ukraine's successful experience in implementing innovative approaches to monitoring anti-corruption measures.

For reference:

The OECD unites 38 of the most developed countries in the world. Its purpose is to create optimal solutions for public policies that promote economic prosperity, equal opportunities, and welfare.

The Public Integrity Indicators are the first set of internationally harmonized data designed to promote best practices in building integrity systems by comparing countries' performance and sharing best practices.

This is critically important for Ukraine on its path to membership in the European Union, as well as for the harmonization of national legislation with EU standards.
