The Investigative Department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in Kyiv has completed the pre-trial investigation and, including on the basis of the full audit of the 2021 declaration conducted by the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), has referred to court the indictment against the state inspector for energy supervision of the State Energy Supervision Department in Kyiv of the State Energy Supervision Inspectorate of Ukraine under Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

The official is charged with intentionally providing knowingly false information in the declaration amounting to over UAH 3.1 million.

As a result of the full audit, NACP established that the declarant “hid” information in the declaration regarding:

  • three houses with a total value of over UAH 2.9 million in the city of Hajdúszoboszló (Hungary) – one of the country’s most famous balneological resorts:
  • an area of 623 sq. m, owned by the official as joint partial ownership (50/100 share);
  • an area of 351 sq. m, also in his joint partial ownership (50/100 share);
  • an area of 219 sq. m, owned by the official as private property;
  • a land plot in Kyiv Region with an area of 891 sq. m worth UAH 226,000, owned by the official as joint partial ownership.

Note: According to part one of Article 62 of the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime and cannot be subjected to criminal punishment until their guilt is proven in a legal manner and established by a court’s guilty verdict.
