Viktor Pavlushchyk, Head of the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP), and Oksana Oliynykova, Director of the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), signed a memorandum aimed at effectively engaging private sector organizations in integrity building and corruption prevention initiatives.

The signatories emphasized the seriousness of the threats posed by corruption to the security and stability of society: it undermines the institutions and values of democracy, ethical values and justice, and threatens social and economic development, the rule of law and the full realization of human rights.

As part of building integrity in the public and private spheres, the NACP and the CIPE, in particular, agreed to

  • implementation of joint projects and initiatives aimed at overcoming corruption risks and building integrity;
  • development and implementation of training programs on building integrity and leadership with the involvement of Ukrainian and foreign educational institutions;
  • promotion of institutional capacity building programs and programs for building institutions in the field of anti-corruption;
  • development of the NACP human resources, in particular through the introduction of modern educational practices and technologies in the field of preventing and combating corruption;
  • exchange of information and experience between national and international experts to improve the skills of relevant persons in building integrity, detecting and preventing corruption.

During the signing of the memorandum, the parties expressed their readiness to cooperate to effectively engage the private sector to minimize corruption risks and build integrity, and expressed their belief that preventing and fighting corruption requires the involvement of all sectors of society: the private sector, individual activists, civil society and non-governmental organizations.

The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is an international organization that works to strengthen democracy and build competitive markets in some of the world's most challenging environments. CIPE works to strengthen democracy through the development of private enterprise and market-oriented reforms. Working with local partners and leaders, CIPE promotes the voice of business in policymaking, empowerment and the development of sustainable and inclusive economies.
